A Safe Escape to the Desert

There may be no safer place in the United States to play golf than Scottsdale National Golf Club. And that could have been said before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived this year. Set on over 700 pristine acres in northeast Scottsdale, this private club created by Bob and Renee Parsons serves as an ultra-secure escape from the reality of daily life. Thanks to a secluded location and a limited membership, it was already set in a natural protective bubble of sorts. Bordered on three sides by land in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve that will never be developed, the club has always emphasized the privacy and safety of its members and guests. Those efforts have only been enhanced during the pandemic, starting with authorized medical personnel who conduct temperature check procedures at the Front Gate upon arrival for all members, guests, and staff. Mask wearing and social distancing protocols are in place, and electrostatic disinfectant spray technology is being used for golf cart sanitization as well as in Villa rooms and public areas.

Thanks to the small membership and sizable property, social distancing of a sort has been in place since Scottsdale National Golf Club opened. In fact, feeling as if you are the only person, couple, or group playing across the massive fairways on The Other Course, moving through the rolling topography of The Mine Shaft Course, or battling The Bad Little Nine’s memorable terrain is the norm. Spotless comfort stations throughout the 18-hole layouts provide hydration and nourishment, while the elegant and comfortable accommodations in the Villas continue to offer the pinnacle of safe luxury travel.

The implementation of all appropriate safety measures, done both visibly and behind-the-scenes, is handled in a highly effective manner without being intrusive or disrupting enjoyment of the club by members, guests, and participants of The Xperience. Doing so has instilled confidence in all who visit Scottsdale National Golf Club, allowing them to focus on the task at hand: taking full advantage of their time at one of the country’s elite private clubs.
